ABOUT US

Who are we?

P.O.N.O. (Pualani Ohana Neighbor Organization) is an independent grass roots organization of Homeowners and Residents of Pualani Estates that was established in the Fall of 2019. It is not part of or managed by the Pualani Estates Homeowners Association (aka "Pualani Estates HOA").

Pono in Hawaiian means uprightness, a condition of being honorable or honest. We are interested in informing residents of decisions and matters that affect all of us who live in or own property in Pualani Estates. To be pono is important to us.

Why?

How decisions are made on issues that affect a member's ownership and use of his or her property are central to a member's fundamental interest and trust. By sharing our observations of the process that propel and support our living in Pualani Estates, we collectively help maintain the values of Pono and Aloha that will make Pualani Estates the respectful, inclusive community we know it can be.

Do you ever wish you knew more about how a decision was made and how it was going to impact the community you live in?

Should not being able to attend meetings exclude you from being informed on major issues facing our community?

Our Goal

We are part of an independent group of concerned homeowners and non-homeowners living in Pualani Estates whose goal is to bring about positive change through the collective efficacy of its members. We hope to provide helpful information on important issues and decisions that impact our community, and to influence policies of the Association through education and advocacy. Our goal is to encourage collective efficacy--when community members share the belief that they can build and maintain quality in their neighborhoods by organization and conscious action. PulaniPono seeks to foster that capability in Pualani Estates.
